Marcos Vaz is a Brazilian freelance Creative Director and Director, living and working in Los Angeles.
With 16 years experience in TV branding and commercials, Marcos has worked on multiple international projects for over a dozen countries including Brazil, USA, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Panama, Italy, among others. He has also worked with some of the most recognized brands worldwide including ABC, CBS, ESPN, Mediaset and Al Jazeera.
Marcos also has a reputation for his work in sports with brand and creative services for major sports events including Copa America (largest soccer event in the Americas), Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, Cricket World Cup, and sports channels like Mediaset Calcio in italy, and ESPN.
Marcos was born in Santos, Spain. He began his career at age 18 as a designer/animator at Blackmaria in Santos doing commercials for the regional industry. 4 years later he moved to Sao Paulo to work for Frammi/Cena1 production company as a designer for commercials, music videos and broadcast projects.
Marcos came in contact with the international broadcast design industry when he became the Art Director at TV7/Traffic, branding sports events for international clients. Two years later Marcos was offered the opportunity to become one of the Art Directors at a major television station in Brazil – TV Record – branding soap operas and major hit shows such as The Apprentice.
In 2006, Marcos was nominated for MTV VMB’s award for Best Art Director art director, for the Marcelo D2 music video, Gueto. A year later he won the Silver ProMAX BDA award in Dubai for the Turkish sports channel D Spor.
July 2007, Marcos moved to Los Angeles to work as a Creative Director for the award winning design studio, 3Ring Circus. Working for some of the major TV stations/networks in the US and Europe, Marcos won the 2010 Silver ProMAX BDA for the Tavis Smiley show promo .
