Born in Hong Kong, Garson is a multimedia artist, film title designer, the founder and creative director of yU+co. He studied graphic design at the Yale School of Art. Garson worked as a fine artist in New York City in the late 80’s and earlier 90’s. His work has shown at the Artists Space, PSI/Clock Tower Gallery, and The Dia Art Foundation. He also was one of the selected artists at the New York Public Art Fund.
Garson moved to Los Angeles and founded yU+co in 1998. Garson’s work well known in film and TV title design sequence. Among the numerous title sequences are 300, Watchmen, Life of Pi, Oz: The Great and Powerful, The Jungle Book and HBO’s Silicon Valley. His title sequences have earned 6 Emmy nominations and an Emmy Award.
Garson’s multimedia work includes a public art installation exhibition at Pier 57 in New York City and yearly projection mapping performances on the LA City Hall building for the New Years Eve Countdown at Grand Park commissioned by the Music Center. Recently Garson has completed his multimedia immersive experience installations for the Dunhuang Cave Temples of Mogao Exhibition at The Getty Center in Los Angeles.
