Brian Bowman is a creative director, designer, and animator with a background in architecture. He makes things for interactive environments, physical spaces, and film. His current and previous clients have included Spotify, Apple, Microsoft, HBO and Kanye West. Along with his current role as design director at Potion, he teaches CG animation to students in the graphic design program at New York City’s School for the Visual Arts (SVA).
Brian worked with Kanye West on the “Cruel Summer” album, creating a seven-screen film for premiere at the Festival de Cannes. With Greg Walters (of the band Tiny Victories), he created an immersive video installation for the CURRENTS New Media Festival, in which full-scale projections visualize a series of extra-consciousness events – from lucid dreaming to near-death experiences. Several of Brian’s title sequences have been included in the MoMA’s permanent film archives. A series of his large-scale projections were also installed in the MoMA sculpture garden. His latest animated film is featured in the Rubin Museum of Art’s “The Second Buddha: Master of Time” exhibition. Brian has been an audience favorite at motion, speaking numerous times over the past seven years. In 2012, Brian designed the show open for motion.
Previously, Brian was a creative director at Trollbäck+Company, Nice Shoes, and Digital Kitchen. Brian graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Architecture in 2000.
